Designed using the latest high-efficiency, woven carbon-fibre technology, combined with its sleek ceramic-glass screen, Rio is engineered to deliver a balanced, comfortable spread of warmth. With a warm up time of just 5-10 seconds, the high power 2.5kW Rio glass electric patio heater comes with a simple to use remote control. The remote control provides 3 power* levels; 33%, 66%, 100%, choose your ideal comfort level outdoors even if the temperature changes around you. Rio also features a bypass switch to bypass the remote* control where hardwire control is preferred via a switching device such as a push button timer. Alternatively, the heater can be simply operated via the on/off buttons.

The high protection afforded by Rio’s IP55 rating will allow it to be mounted outdoors all year round. Designed for maximum effectiveness, Rio is manufactured to withstand the effects of weather and be exposed to rainfall. The Rio offers maximum versatility on installation for every space, with both wall or ceiling mounting available. Furthermore, a stand option (available for purchase separately) will allow Rio to be used as a freestanding heater wherever it is needed. Featuring a hidden integrated power cable, this premium adjustable stand is suitable for both domestic and commercial use. The stainless steel stand in a black powder coated finish extends between 1.1m and 2.1m and comes with a 2.6m power lead, from the base of the stand, with UK plug. Easy assembly with IP68 rated push-fit power lead connectors. The power lead to the heater is hidden in the pole and under the base. Both the stand and the heater are weather protected and suitable for outdoor use all year round. Stand requires assembly. As standard, when wall or ceiling-mounting, the Rio does not come with a fitted plug.

In addition to outdoor restaurant and bar terraces, the Rio is well-suited for similar indoor commercial environments seeking a stylish, effective heating solution. Its high performance long life carbon heating lamp, (bulb life of up to 5,000 hours), combined with the stunning glass design makes Rio the perfect heating solution to complement any designer interior. When used as an indoors heating solution, the 2.5kW Rio should be hardwired, and used in its bypass* mode, along with Herschel’s MD2 or MKS thermostat (available separately). * When operated in ‘remote bypass’ the heater can only be operated at full power. The 3 power levels are only available via the remote control.

As always in exposed areas with air movement and wind, infrared spread may reduce by 1/3 to 1/2. In these areas we recommend mounting at the lowest height and proportionally increasing the number of heaters.
